Erlanger Dinner of Distinction to honor Dr. Richard Alvarez, Dr. Frank Adkins, Dr. Donald Barker, and Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger

Chattanooga, Tenn. – Drs. Richard Alvarez, Frank Adkins, Donald Barker, and Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger will be honored at Erlanger Health System Foundation’s 18th Annual Dinner of Distinction on January 14, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. in the Westin Hotel Ballroom.

Drs. Richard Alvarez, Frank Adkins, and Donald Barker were selected by previous “Distinguished Physician Award” honorees to be recognized for their enduring commitment to improving the health of the community, as well as demonstrating unquestionable character and human compassion. Additional criteria used to choose honorees include: a person who has contributed a lifetime of medical benefit to the community and a person committed to the healing mission and values of Erlanger.

Erlanger Foundation will also honor Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger with the “Gordon Street Distinguished Community Leadership Award.” This annual award is presented to community leaders who have championed the advancement of healthcare in the Chattanooga region, are committed to improving the health of people throughout our community, and are dedicated to the healing mission and values of Erlanger.


Erlanger’s Dinner of Distinction will be Friday, January 14, at the Westin Hotel. A welcome reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and a program honoring the 2022 Distinguished Honorees at 7 p.m.

Premier seating sponsorships are currently available at $1,500 per table. Tickets are $150 per person. Seating is limited, and the deadline to purchase tickets is January 10.
